Some people are real smoothie master chefs. There are all these veggies and weird fruits I’ve never heard of and seeds and spices and WHATEVER. And hey – more power to ya! Some people just… love their smoothies.
To be honest I have never been super into the whole smoothie thing. I like them because they’re fast and easy and a good way to use up the last of my spinach – that’s about it. so yeah, when I find the simplest, best, most delicious smoothie recipe of all time… I stick with it.
If I ever make a smoothie, there is a 99.9999% chance this is what I make. It’s so tasty, so simple, and so good for you. Also it kind of looks like the polyjuice potion in Harry Potter. Not that that’s a huge selling feature – just an observation. OKAY, so, make your own or whatever:
- 1 banana
- a cup-ish of blueberries? (who measures things? not me)
- a handful of spinach/kale/whatever leafy greens you have kickin around
- unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- and the secret ingredient……. a sprinkle of cinnamon.
THERE YOU GO, the best smoothie ever. I’m trying to do more smoothies and healthy things lately (ugh), so this has become a serious staple in my diet. OH and I threw in some chia seeds this time because I just happened to have them in my cupboard and I think they’re so weird and fun.
As a side note: how many times have I made chia seed pudding, stuck it in the fridge overnight, and then ended up tossing it because it just does not appeal to me when I’m making breakfast? Wasteful. Bad.
OKAY so, yeah, that’s my lunch today. I’m off to the library to get a library card!!!! Trying to read books before bed in the hopes that it will put me to sleep – so far no luck. Any suggestions of other things I should be throwing into my smoothies?
happy blending! – L
